201-896-4100 info@sh-law.comLyndhurst, New Jersey, January 10, 2017 – Scarinci Hollenbeck is pleased to announce that the newly updated United Nationals (UN) Manual for the Negotiation of Bilateral Tax Treaties includes a contribution by Professor Frank Brunetti, noted tax attorney and Chair of Scarinci Hollenbeck’s Tax, Trusts and Estates law practice group. The book, first published in 1979, and most recently updated in 2016, provides a comprehensive guide to all aspects of tax treaty negotiation, including a brief description of the Articles of the United Nations Model Double Taxation Convention between Developed and Developing Countries. It is intended mainly for negotiators with little or no experience in the negotiation of tax treaties. The Manual was revised as a result of a paper given by Professor Brunetti at the 2003 annual meeting of the Committee of Experts on Cooperation in International Tax Matters, in Geneva, Switzerland. Professor Brunetti was appointed Chair of the Manual Revision Committee.
Michael Lennard, Chief, International Tax Cooperation expressed his gratitude to Dr. Brunetti in a letter announcing the update of the manual, thanking him for his contribution and his “long-standing and much appreciated involvement in the UN Tax Committee work over many years.”
