  • Matthew F. Mimnaugh is a member of the firm’s litigation department. 

    Prior to joining the firm, Matt served as Chief Counsel to Commissioner Keith E. Sonderling of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Matthew advised the Commissioner on all policies, regulations, and statutes enforced by the EEOC, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. As Chief Counsel, Matt’s duties also encompassed providing the Commissioner with legal and policy advice on litigation, amicus briefs submitted before federal appellate courts, and guidance pending before the Commission.

    Prior to his tenure at EEOC, Matt served as labor counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, where he facilitated passage of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, vetted presidential nominees for independent regulatory boards as well as Cabinet and sub-Cabinet positions, and conducted oversight over a wide panoply of civil rights and labor agencies, including the EEOC, National Labor Relations Board, and U.S. Department of Labor.  Matthew also served as Special Assistant and Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S Department of Labor under Secretaries Alexander Acosta and Eugene Scalia.

     Matthew earned his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in Newton, MA and his undergraduate degree in History, magna cum laude, from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
